DAILY DIARY_THINK IN ENGLISH CHALLENGE
My new employee ID card arrived at my home today. Because the name of the company will change on April 1st. Normally, it would be given directly to me or put on my desk in the office, but it was given to me by mail since we work remotely from home because of the coronavirus.
I need to go to the company and return my current ID card to the company. But I do not know why I need to go to the company when I work remotely because of the coronavirus. I wish I could return it by mail.
The Olympics without Fans
Japanese government has decided that foreign spectators will not be welcome at this summer’s Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics because there are public concerns about the coronavirus and the detection of more contagious variants in many countries. A recent poll also showed that 77% of Japanese people did not want international visitors at the games amid fears over a resurgence of infections.
I want the Olympics and Paralympics to be canceled or postponed if possible. Honestly, I do not think these can be held safely this summer because Tokyo has remained under a state of emergency yet. If these are held this year, the coronavirus will spread to Japan more than now because most Japanese people have not been vaccinated yet. This situation will not change during the games. Japan might be hit hard by a fourth wave of the coronavirus pandemic in the summer. So, I do not think these should be held this year. But If these were canceled, Japan would have suffered immeasurable economic damage. So ideally, I would like to see the Olympics and Paralympics postponed.

DAILY DIARY_THINK IN ENGLISH CHALLENGE
My new employee ID card arrived at my home today because the name of the company will change on April 1st. Normally, it would be given/handed personally/ directly to me or put on my desk in the office, but it was given to me by mail since we work remotely from home because of the Coronavirus.
I need to go to the company and personally return/turn over my current ID card to the company. But I do not know why I need to go to the company when I work remotely because of the Coronavirus.(This doesn’t make sense) I wish I could return it by mail.
The Olympics without Fans
The Japanese government has decided that foreign spectators will not be welcome (will not be allowed)/ (will not be encouraged) in this summer’s Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics because there are public concerns about the Coronavirus and the detection of more contagious [can be transferred easily] variants/types in many countries. A recent poll also showed that 77% of Japanese people did not want international visitors at the games amid [in the middle of/ sorrounded by] fears over a resurgence [a comeback/return] of infections.
I want the Olympics and Paralympics to be canceled or postponed if possible. Honestly, I do not think that these can be held safely this summer because Tokyo has remained under a state of emergency still. If these are held this year, the Coronavirus will spread in Japan more than now because most Japanese people have not been vaccinated (vak-seeney-ted) yet.
感想
今日はオリンピックの話が多かった。実際やばいよねーみたいな。
それが終わった後は、昨日やった日本とアメリカの文化の違いについて、また文章をよんでディスカッションするやつをだった。
In Japan there is less of a social stigma (bad reputation/negative image) surrounding an unmarried person living with their parents during or after college. In fact, it isn’t unheard of for to live with one partner’s parents until they can find a place of their own. In the U.S. people tend to move out of their parents’ homes unless they’re financially or culturally discouraged from doing so.
