How much electricity does it take to power the world?

How much electricity does it take to power the world?

宿題

DAILY DIARY_THINK IN ENGLISH CHALLENGE

I am tired today because there were 4 meetings at work. The first one began at 9:30 am and the next one started at 10:30 am. It was 3:00 pm when all meetings finished. I have no time to do my own work because of the meetings. Therefore, my work is piled up. For example, I have to write an innovation report. I have an idea I want to write about, which I had already discussed with an IP manager. So, all I have to do is write it but I have no time to do that. In addition, I also should merge my source code to master one for a project my team is working on. Of course, that is not over yet either. Nevertheless, I will take a paid vacation tomorrow. I think me next week will be my best to finish my piled-up work.

How much electricity does it take to power the world?

I agree with the article that we need a breakthrough in power supply. We are currently using a lot of power but more power will be needed in the future because countries become more industrialized and have more population. In addition, we depend on fossil fuels for using cars and many industries, etc. but we should switch from fossil fuels to electric power in order to reduce greenhouse gases. In fact, the article says that the global electricity needs could triple by 2050.

Many countries are now promoting the use of renewable energy like wind and solar power. However, these can not be stored and shipped unlike fossil fuels.  There is nuclear power for clean energy but it is difficult to use safely.  Especially in earthquake-prone areas like Japan, it is more dangerous. The Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster has not finished yet.

In order to ensure a sustainable future for humanity, we need a breakthrough in power supply.

How much electricity does it take to power the world?

I agree with the article that we need a breakthrough in power supply. We are currently using a lot of power but more power will be needed in the future because countries become more industrialized and (increase in population) have more population. In addition, we depend on fossil fuels (fyu-wels) for using cars and many industries, etc. but we should switch from fossil fuels to electric power in order to reduce greenhouse gases. In fact, the article says that the global electricity needs could triple (tri-pol) by 2050.
