I found an interesting news today. Toyota has succeeded in increasing the efficiency of artificial photosynthesis to the highest level in the world. In 2011, Toyota became the first company to succeed in artificial photosynthesis, but at that time, the conversion efficiency was 0.04%. After that, they improved it to 7.2%. This conversion efficiency is superior to that of photosynthesis in plants.
Do you think that TV commercials have any influence over consumers’ decisions?
I think that TV commercials are effective in increasing consumer awareness and trust.
One of the strengths of TV commercials is that they can get the name of a product or company known to a large number of people in a short period of time. In addition, while the internet is mainly used by young people, TV is widely used by children and the elderly alike. For this reason, TV commercials are more effective when the target of the advertisement is a wide age range. So, there is a possibility that people from a wider range of generations will purchase the product.
Most people have a certain amount of knowledge about TV and they know that TV commercials require a lot of money. Therefore, there is a sense of safety that companies which can produce TV commercials are famous and have plenty of funds. Moreover, TV has the characteristic of being seen by a lot of people, so they tend to trust products which have TV commercials. That is why the products are more likely to be purchased than products which do not have TV commercials.
For these reasons, I think that TV commercials are effective in increasing consumer awareness and trust.
